chapter 2.1 "The Markelly Twins in college"
* controlling pawns is hard *
Evan tried to take Lydia's advice and get Denise out of his mind, but it was hard to. And seeing her go off with Ashley Pitt even after he told her about Heather and the rest of those girls killed every last feeling he had for her.
He went back to Lydia and Denise's dorm and found Lydia there, up late. He told her everything...
... including what he had probably known all along...
Lydia was ecstatic. She decided to not tell Denise right away. However, Denise wasn't an idiot.
They were at University Central looking for school supplies when Denise noticed the shy glance and shaky grin on her sister's face as Evan walked into the room. She knew for sure right then and there what was going on.
Denise: "This is about to get awkward."
Lydia: "What are you talking about...?"
Denise: "Just don't be a dolt about it. You kids go have fun."
Lydia: "You mean, you knew...?"
Denise: "I'm not that blonde, sweetie."
Denise only ever liked Evan as a friend. Even as teenagers, their first kiss felt too weird and rushed, like she was kissing a brother. And he was too much of a dork.. and a bit of jerk, though she wouldn't share that last bit with Lydia. She was happy if her sister was happy.
Denise: "Well, um, I'm going to head to the mall to buy a dress for Jessie's Graduation party. I'll catch up with you later."
Lydia: "Okay.. thanks Denise..."
So officially began Evan and Lydia's relationship which lasted well through the rest of college.
And of course, Denise being Denise, easily got over Ashley Pitts and never really stopped seeing him. However, it was one fateful day at her sorority sister's grad party that she finally met Clive Baird... the boy from that public highschool that Lydia had had a crush on when they were younger. Lydia never told her about Clive... Denise had to read about him in her sister's secret diary. She instantly knew what Lydia saw in him. He was cute.
It was hard to resist.
Graduation came and went and the twins moved back to New SimTopi. Lydia is now wearing a beautiful engagement ring, given to her by Evan. They were going to be married and she should be so happy about it. After all, this is what she's wanted since she was a little girl. But why did something feel wrong?
Evan came by to visit every so often. He was busy getting involved in weird get-rich schemes. He was handsome as ever, but he wasn't the sweet dork that Lydia fell in love with in college.
Denise took to the nightlife with her own style. She became a fixture in all of downtown's clubs. She's a well known scenester and club kid, but she's been unable to land that job in the music industry she's always wanted.
She's always the center of attention everywhere she goes.
Of course, she immediately resumed her relationship with Clive.
"I have an idea.."
Clive suspected she was crazy. He loved it. Their first woohoo together... in a public photo booth.
Still, he was a little bit old fashioned...
He preferred to consider it official in his own bed.
Meanwhile, Denise and Lydia's half sister, Tyler, grew to be a beautiful teenager.
* (I seriously don't know what's up with the hair. Every downloaded 'long' hair style looks like that on her)
Clive not only got to the top of his career as a Business Tycoon, he managed to score a very big bonus for himself.
Clive was now the richest man in New SimTopi. He had more capital than Malcolm Landgrabb IV, and was definitely more wealthier than Brandon Markelly.
Still, something was missing from his life. Maybe he was lonely. He hadn't been happy since being with Elf. He couldn't deny how he felt when he was with Denise. She was so bright and energetic and being with her made him feel like a kid again.
Eventually Clive moved to a newly converted loft condo on the other side of town.
He asked Denise to move in with him. She accepted.
The next weekend, they had an afternoon housewarming party. Clive invited all his buddies from college, his dad and his brother. His sister came too, even though she wasn't "one of the boys". Clive just wanted a girl there to keep Denise company and seeing as Jessie was her sorority sister, it was ideal.
Denise's stepmom somehow ended up at the party. It was odd, thought Denise but it was a nice surprise
The party was great.
And when everyone left, it was him and Denise alone.
Later that night, Denise heard a knock at the door. She checked the alarm clock and was surprised to see it was 4am.
She went to answer the door. To her shock, Lydia was there...
... and really pregnant.
"Hi Denise... I need a place to stay..."
To be continued...
