SimTopi Founders: The Bairds

These would be the Bairds, one of the founding families in my neighbourhood of SimTopi. The Bairds started off with Talula and Garret.
Talula and Garret have simple Sim stories. They moved into a starter suburb from rural Sim State. However, as young couples go, they were married too soon and had their first baby too fast.
When Garret wasn't out, he was lying on the couch watching the sports channel.
And when he was, he was drinking.
Talula's pregnancy was difficult. But because Garret was either working or drinking at the bar, she had to bear it alone.
But it took a kitchen fire for Garret to wisen up and decide to take better care of his young wife and newborn son.
When Clive was born, Talula was so tired that she had left something burning on the stove. By the time the fire was extinguished they had lost half their kitchen. It was a miracle that either Talula and the baby lived.
It scared Garret and changed him a bit. He began to take life more seriously. Garret went into politics seriously and quickly rose up the political ladder in the Sim State Conservative party. But now, Garret had another reason to not be home. This time, however, it was because he was working hard to uphold his principles and those of other families like his in the region.
Garret worked hard so they can move into a bigger home, a 3 bedroom bungalow. With money he received from campaign funds being redirected, they were also able to renovate a basement and add a fourth bedroom for the now teenage Clive. They also had three more children. Jessie, who wants to be a family Sim like her mother, Craig, a little boy genius and Jodie, the youngest and most rebellious.
Eventually Clive went off to college. Garret is in full mode campaign to become New SimTopi's next mayor. Talula is debating whether to start working again now that her children are grown, or she could have another baby.
Talula Baird is a happy and fun loving mom. She's the wife of a politician, but she shuns the socialites and the schmoozefests. She doesn't care if she wears pink tank tops and bleached blonde braids. She's a loving stay-at-home mom to her four children and aspires for at least three of them to graduate from college.
Clive is the oldest and the first of Talula's kids to get to college. He is dating Elf Marlen, a girl he knew from his old neighbourhood. Clive is studying economics and one day hopes to be a tycoon to make his Dad proud of him.
Jessie Baird is the second oldest. She grew up an average teenager, not very interested in school and being a bit materialistic. A little bit of a daddy's girl, she manages to pry gifts from her dad.
Though she respects her mom's desire for her to go to college, she really wants to be a family Sim, to just meet a boy and have kids. Clive wants his sister to go to college too believing that his family doesn't have to get caught in this rural mentality of just staying home and having babies.
Craig Baird was an intelligent little boy, always studying hard. When he was finished with homework, he was always interested in studying more skills.
When he finally became a teenager, the first thing he thought of was private school and getting an A+ grade. Since he talked about rockets and airplanes a lot when he was a kid, he will probably grow to be an astronaut, so that means the military for him!

He was fairly popular at school, though he never meant to be. He was just a nice guy to have around. He quickly made friends with Peregrin Marlen who shared his homeroom class.

Though Peregrin didn't seem to be very keen on his older sister, Jessie. She was much too materialistic and really didn't care about nature and the environment, which were important causes for Peregrin.
Jodie Baird is the youngest. Talula paid special attention to her because she would probably be the last infant she would have.
Jodie, as a child, was a ball of energy, always running from place to place, wanting to play and explore.
Mr. Garret Baird is a respected politician now, at this point working his way to Senator.
He learned to be a good husband and father, leaving his past behind him.
He made a promise to Talula that he would take care of his family and he did just that. He's on his way to becoming a Mayor and there's already a nice gift of a new house for his wife, providing that he can make that last promotion.
