They drove up around the old mansion in the middle of nowhere. Tiffany was abruptly ordered to stop the car and get out. The girl possessed by the ghost of Brittany dragged Heather out and pulled her towards the old Landgrabb Mansion's front entrance.

Brittany: Here! Do you see it Heather? Does this whole place remind you of anything at all?

Heather: You looked this place up, right? This has to be some kind of joke. Why did you bring us here???
Brittany: You know why, Heather. You haven't forgotten either. Admit it!!!
Heather swallowed hard, her heart beating strong and fast with fear.

Heather: No. I haven't forgotten.
Years ago, Heather and Tiffany waited patiently and concerned. Their friend had locked herself in her room and had been crying all day. But as evening came, she came out of her room and had made a phone call. Before long, a limousine showed up at the mansion door.

They had borrowed a friend's car and followed the limousine through campus. It wasn't difficult to find where they were going, though it had taken a long time.
Their destination was this old mansion. The same place they were standing in front of now.

They shouted Brittany's name, trying to stop her. They wanted to find out what had happened to make her so angry.

Heather and Tiffany was not prepared for what faced them.

Brittany: I just knew it! I knew you were jealous! I got to be part of a Secret Society and you didn't so you just had to drag yourselves over here and get in on it because you couldn't stand to not have something that I had, didn't you?

Heather: Britt, that wasn't it at all! We were just worried sick about you. I don't care about whatever this place is...

Brittany: Whatever this place is??? Are you kidding me, this is only the most exclusive society in all of Sim State! People who've joined this society graduate with full honours and go on to become respected and powerful citizens. Don't fucking deny that you're jealous. You've always been jealous!!!

Brittany: Tri-Var is my sorority until you got here. Now everyone loves you and no one gives a shit about me.
Heather: Britt, that ain't true... what happened to you today?

Brittany: Ha! You'd just love knowing that wouldn't you?! All I wanted to do was redecorate the place. The others said there wouldn't be a point to it. So I looked around. And I found the third floor! ... Oh... I found the third floor...
Brittany's eyes went blank as her voice trailed off, remembering.

She shook her head and stepped back.

Heather and Tiffany both shouted at her to watch out, but without realizing Brittany had already hit the fence. She lost her balance and fell over it.

They stood there, looking into the fenced yard, staring in horror at what was inside. Heather was frozen, her voice small.
Heather: Britt... get out of there!

Slowly, Brittany sat up.

It didn't matter if she heard Heather's cries. It was much too late.

As soon as the laganaphyllis simnovorii detected movement, smelling warm blood and flesh, it used it's tendrils to pull its planter forward, as far as the anchor would allow.

Heather screamed and started to run towards Brittany. But Tiffany held her back.

There was nothing they could have done by that point. The plant, motivated by hunger, was fast.

The girls stood back from the plant for the longest time, unable to comprehend what had just happened. They had just watched as their friend was killed. The whole scenario repeated again in their minds, over and over.
They wouldn't be able to explain this. They knew if they weren't there, Brittany might not have fallen in the pit. They didn't know what Brittany had been saying. For all anyone knew, Heather could have been truly jealous of Brittany and had pushed her in.
It was in that moment, Heather and Tiffany made a sisterhood pact to keep this quiet. No one had to know how Brittany died... how they were involved.

And neither of them expected for it to ever be brought to the surface again. Until tonight.
Heather: Brittany!

Brittany: So now you believe who I am. Need any more reminders?

Brittany: I'm not going to let you get away with lying about me again. I waited a whole generation to face you again. I was talking to myself until this stupid little girl came along.
Tiffany: Brittany please, killing Heather's not going solve anything!

Brittany: She'll get to know what it's like at least! To have everything in her life out of control. To be frightened and frustrated and angry that nothing is going right. You think Heather ever had to know anything like that? Nothing ever went badly for her!

Brittany: But I'm not going to kill her just yet. First she has to learn. Tiffany get in the pit.

Tiffany: What?!
Brittany: You heard me, you dumb bitch. Unless you want to see me cut Heather's heart out and throw it at you, get in the pit!

Tiffany stepped forward slowly, staring at the monstrous plant in front of her. Her blood was ice and her heart felt like it had stopped.

She couldn't breathe. As she stepped closer, the thing shuddered to life, sensing the warmth of flesh.
Brittany: Did you hear me, Tiffany?! Get in there now or I swear to god...!

Tiffany: No.

Heather: Tiff...?!
Tiffany: I'm not going to do it, Heather. I'm sorry. Ever since college I've followed you. All my life, I've done everything you asked for, everything you wanted and I tried not to make any waves about it. Many times I did all this at the expense of my own life. I've done a lot for you over the years.

Tiffany: But I'm not going to die for you, Heather.

Heather: Tiffany?! Did you have to get into this now?
Brittany only laughed.
Brittany: I guess I was wrong...

Brittany: You really don't have everyone wrapped around your finger. Well fuck the both of you!
Heather was shoved at Tiffany hard enough to make her lose her balance.

Without hesitating, Brittany's hands swung up, holding the knife above her head. She yelled as she lunged forward, the knife aimed at Heather...
"CECILIA!!!"

No one had seen Jasmine running towards them. She was a quick flash as she threw herself at her sister, pulling her down.

The possessed Cecilia struggled hard against Jasmine, swearing loudly with a voice she did not recognize. It took all of her strength to keep her down and all of her self control not to hit her close fisted.

Jasmine: Cecilia for fuck's sake, STOP! What the hell got into you?!

Brittany: Fuck you, how many times do I have to say I'm not Cecilia!. Stupid bitch.

Jasmine: Did you just...?!
She simply returned the insult by slapping Cecilia hard.

Jasmine: Stay down, you idiot! I don't know what happened to you but you are Cecilia. You are my sister.

Jasmine: And I'm sorry I never listened to you, or took you seriously okay? Come back, Cecilia. Please.

Brittany: You... you really are her sister...? You came all the way here just for her?

Jasmine: Why wouldn't I?

Heather: Brittany, let the poor girl go.

Heather: You say that I never had anything out of my control in my life? An acting career that went no where. A publishing company that isn't making any money. Failed marriages, empty relationships. And then there was watching you die in front of my eyes and not being able to stop it from happening.

Heather: I'm really sorry if I've hurt you when you were living. I might have been too self-involved but I never meant anything towards you. I'm sorry if I hadn't bothered to look around me. To really see you... and Tiffany too.
Brittany began to laugh.

She got to her knees, closed her eyes chuckling to herself as if remembering a joke. Suddenly she began to glow.

Jasmine recoiled in shock as her sister was surrounded by this cold, ethereal light.

Heather and Tiffany held their ground, their breaths caught in their throats as the apparition rose from Cecilia's form, floating towards them slowly.

Brittany: That's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard.

Heather: But I meant it, Brittany. I might have been lucky in a lot of aspects but it's not like I don't know or appreciate it all. And its not like I've never known pain. Now please, go on and leave us all be. This poor girl's been through enough.
Brittany: I think you're right. I think it's time for me to go. At least I get to move on while I'm young and pretty. You... well you're just a middle-aged wannabe politician with big hair. And all your friends hate you. I wouldn't want to be you.

Brittany: I don't know what it is... but I feel... "fixed". I think Cecilia took care of my insanity and fixed me...
Jasmine: You've gotta be kidding me...
Brittany: I know right?

Everyone watched in near disbelief as the ghost laughed one more time and disappeared in a sparkling of light. Afterwards, there was just silence.

Cecilia: Jasmine?
Jasmine: Hey, calm down. It's okay now. I think.
Cecilia: What just happened?
Jasmine: Oh god, you tell me.

Jasmine: I'm just really glad you're back.
Cecilia: What? Where did I go? What am I wearing???

Heather: Now ain't that the most precious thing you've seen today, Tiff?

Jasmine: Okay. I really have no clue what just happened here. I don't even give two fucks who you are... not like I can't guess.

Heather: Well then. I guess I know who I'm talking to. Now Miss Baird, of the matter that your sister forcibly kidnapped and attempted to kill us...
Jasmine: You know perfectly well that she wasn't herself. You saw what just happened.
Heather: And who's gonna believe that?

Jasmine: What do you want? That I convince my Dad to give generously to your candidacy? Yeah, not gonna happen. I'm giving you both the option to just leave right now and no one is going to hear about what happened here. Nothing about Cecilia, nothing about Brittany's ghost. Nothing. Get it?

Jasmine: Because I sure as hell wouldn't want the news hearing about what happened to my sister. And I'd hate to have to explain what a b-list celebrity mayoral candidate and her assistant, is doing all the way out here, as well as try to explain what she knows about Brittany Upsnott's death. I think we've got an understanding.

Heather: You're a lot more like your Gramps and your Pa than your strange little sister over there, sweetheart. You've got yourself a deal. No one knows anything.

Heather: We're going, Tiff.
Tiffany: Heather what I said back there before...
Heather: Not now. I said, we're going.
Jasmine watched them leave, hoping she'd never have to see them again.

Jasmine: Remind me not to vote for her. I don't care if she's the only candidate right now.
Cecilia: Jasmine...

Jasmine: Sis' it's okay. The ghost isn't going to bother you anymore. You're safe now. I can't imagine what you must have gone through...

Cecilia: Jasmine what happened to my hair???
Jasmine: Your... what?

Cecilia: Oh my god! My hair's all gone! Jasmine I look awful what am I going to do?!
Jasmine: Well, okay I'll be honest you kinda look like crap...
Cecilia began to cry.

Jasmine: Okay no, I didn't mean it like that. You look fine. Great even. We'll just get you home now...
Cecilia: NO!!!

Cecilia: I can't go back to the Tri-Var mansion looking like this! What'll everyone say?
Jasmine: Fine, you can stay with me...
Cecilia: I don't want to go to your dorm either! I don't want anyone seeing me like this!
Jasmine: After everything that happened tonight this is what you're worried about? I don't even... okay. Okay, here just put on my sweater before you freeze to death.

Cecilia: Ugh. Don't you have anything else?
Jasmine: I have a hoodie in the truck...
Cecilia: That dirty one you wear when you're working on it? No it's okay. Who are you calling?
Jasmine: I know where we can go.

Jasmine: But I don't want you bitching about it, understand?

It took a few rings before someone picked up the phone.

Jasmine: Hi. It's me, Jasmine...

Jasmine: Mom? I know it's late... but can we come over?

Notes:
* we met Brittany's "killer" back in
* I didn't expect this to be a 2 parter but I guess since this was the conclusion of Brittany's storyline, I figured why not have fun with it. I had not originally intended to go into this much detail about the original Tri-Var girls past. I took a lot of briefs from playing them way back in Generation 2, as well as grabbing a bit more information from the Sims Wiki.
* I hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Thank you for reading! :D

Date: 2011-02-03 05:06 am (UTC)Oh wow! I really loved this chapter! I can't help but feel sorry for poor Cecilia, being dragged into this mess. At least "she" didn't kill anyone, but that would have been awful once she regained her senses.
Your pictures, as always, are amazing! :) So much detail between the flashbacks, the little pics, the photo album. I loved it all.
(And now I wonder what did Brittany found at the Secret Society? Something tells me that this whole ordeal is not over yet)

Date: 2011-02-03 09:07 pm (UTC)Yeah Cecilia has kind of had a rought time with all of this, and yeah at least she didn't kill anyone. I really wouldn't have let her, it was too much fun having Jasmine come in at the last minute to save the day, LOL.
Thank you about the pictures too. I will go into detail about what Brittany found in later chapters but it does tie with what Willow's going to.
