I've been getting a few messages, and I know I should respond to them. First of all, thank you, I'm glad you are thinking of me and the story. On a personal end I'm fine... just busy and honestly I haven't given a lot of thought to Sims2 or Simtopi.

It's not that I don't know what I'm doing, or I don't want to finish it. It is all just giving myself time. To be honest, waiting half an hour for my Sims game to simply load isn't how I want to be spending my free time lately.

I've been working a lot on my Sims 3 world because I want to finish that too and it's something I actually don't need a lot of mental energy to commit too. That's still not done either... but it's soon pretty! ^_^

Also, a part from the few of you who were nice of you to message me, I don't know if anyone will care about a Sims 2 story. I know I said before that if only one person was reading, i'd finish for that one person, but like I said, it really depends on my time. I'm sorry...

Truth be told, I just don't really know what to do next. :p

I think we're more than just one person that want to see this story finished - it's such a good story - but this is supposed to be fun and not a chore. I don't spend that much time watching the community anymore, so I'm tracking the stories I'm following - that way I don't have to worry about missing how anything ends. ;)
I hope you will find yourself inspired to add to this story some day soon - but if not, I really want to thank you for a good read.

It's kind of sad how Sims 2 fell by the wayside, isn't it? Or maybe it's just LJ. I still get a kick out of Sims 2, I really do, it has a charm that Sims 3 never had. It's too bad that on the technical end, it's so slow and cludgy and at least lately for me, prone to crashing a lot.

I would love to finish my story, I really would. Maybe I need a month long vacation to do so. :D Thank you though. Are you on Tumblr or any other social media? I'd follow you there!

Everyone else who used to be on LJ is on tumblr now and as creative as ever - I'd say even more, it's so much easier to post your pictures there. I actually have a tumblr account for watching purposes only, but it is kind of overwhelming with all the imaginative creativity going on there. As harmless as the simsblogging is, it is kind of personal and I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go on blogging at all, but once and again I do like to post something so I made a new LJ account after all when I decided to delete the old one to finally get rid of a stalker. I don't take a lot a pictures (I wish I could hire someone to take them for me) = not much blogging, but I still play - and I'm absolutely sticking with TS2. I like everything much better with that game; visuals, sounds and game interactions (with all the hacks I have it's almost like TS3). But like you, I have a lot of problems lately with the game crashing and it takes half an hour to load with all the CC I have. If I dont' save often, a lot of swearing takes place. Moments ago I lost a lovely house that I hadn't saved at all. Arghh! No more playing today though, I'd better bring forth the vacuum cleaner instead. (Sigh, bleh..)

Well, if RL takes over and this story doesn't get finished, thanks again for a good read and some really awesome pics. I've told you XX times before how much I love the "open hood" feel you have created in this story. Awesome! It was also very nice to have met you, you seem like a very nice person. :) Take care and best wishes, but I'm still hopingto see this story completed.

Mela why on earth would you think no one would care? I mean you've put a lot of time and effort into your story and we've all enjoyed it immensely and I'd like to see it finished. I hate being invested in stuff to see it just drop off like a new TV series w bad ratings after the first episode. You've inspired others to do stories as well (myself included even though I kinda chickened out) and your story is full of mysterious and interesting characters we've been trying to guess just who they are, what they mean to each other, etc. I hope you'll not give up on it. :(

Aww Jean... I know that people care, I mean it when I say the Sims 2 community is the nicest gaming community I've ever come across, bar none. I know you as a sim storyteller appreciates the time and effort it took creating a sims story. I like your analogy about a TV show that goes off the air... I never wanted to do that. I'm *this* close to the ending to be honest, but I just need time and if I can't do it properly I feel like Ishouldn't do it at all... does that make sense?

Don't ever chicken out with your stories! Sims, written, otherwise, keep writing them down. :D Thank you Jean! At least I get to catch up to you on Twitter (which is my social media of choice lately)

*nods* yeah I totally get that. You do such a great job all the way through and you're totally hung up on the ending. I think the ending can be scarier than the beginning sometimes. Heaven knows I've had that sinking feeling so many times when I wrote fanfiction. Its so awful. *hugs* well good luck with whatever you decide.

I haven't seen you post very much of your s3 stuff unless I've been that beligerent and just not seen it? :s

Yes! I've enjoyed seeing your twitter posts :3 the one about the traffic was really funny the other day BTW. OMG the struggle sometimes, right? OTL

Well I have plans for a story - but first gotta get that conp, which is definitely going to happen between the 15th of this month and the 15th of next month ^^v

TS2 people are still around, but it's easier to find them on tumblr or in the Mibbit chat than on LJ, which is pretty dead in general. (dead enough for me to make it on the top journals list. :P)

Good to hear from you as always, Mela. :)

The Sims 2 comm has been strangely popular on LJ (we even made their drama list a few times if I recall), I am not surprised at all that you're one of the top journals there too. You've been such an inspiration, I need to thank you for it. You've really upped the bar when it came to sims stories!

I don't know about simblr to be honest. Everytime I end up checking my dashboard, someone's spoiling the ending of a movie or a show, and it makes me mad! LOL... well, not really, but I do check on tumblr once in a while. I need to filter a bit better. Where is this chat? It sounds like fun. :)

Heh, yeah I use tumblr savior and I mostly only follow people who only post sims stuff. I miss the fun LJ activities and discussions of yesteryear!

Do what you want!

On your Sims 3 world, omg I will buy and download all of the expansions just to play your world, it looks so awesome.

Haha Thank you! Yes, that's the obvious answer isn't it. My problem is that I want to finish the story, I just don't want to spend my little free time doing it. Hehe.

And right now, my world is only using Ambitions, World Adventures and Late Night. I wanted to keep it fairly simple. I think it should be done soon, I'm pretty excited for it.

You need to invest in a time machine then.

YAY I have those expansions! Heh I think if you ever wanted to add content for expansions you could just make lots that will fit into various blank/filler lots.

It's good to see a post from you! I was wondering where you'd gotten to. Glad that you're mostly doing well, and I hope that your particular brand of busy is the good brand of busy.

Glad to hear about the progress on your Sims 3 world. As for Simtopi... well, I still like Sims 2 stories (and Sims 3 stories, though being a Sims 2 player, I tend to actively seek Sims 2 stories and stumble across Sims 3 stories), and I love your Sims 2 story, and it would make my day if I looked at my blog roll and saw your next chapter sitting at the top. That said, if you find you've lost interest or inspiration or even time, I don't think anyone would blame you if you let it go (and anyone who would has never written a Sims story and has no idea how much work it can be, even if you're a lazy corner-cutting maniac like me--and you are definitely on the other end of that scale!).

Whatever you decide to do, it will be the right choice. :)

Thank you! I always appreciate hearing from you, you know. :D I have been busy, not good, not bad, just the kind of busy that I need to be. Rat race and all that.

It has never been about not being inspired. I still love my characters and I really, really do miss them (I think about Jasmine a lot in particular), like I said, it's all about time. By the time I work up the energy to come up with new chapters, people will be playing and modding sims 5! Ha!

Though I still think Sims 2 screens look pretty and stories aren't really about game play sometimes, so there is still relevance to sims 2 stories, if that makes any sense. Again, thank you. :)

I think your story and Bunheads, and Skells are the only ones I've really sat down and read from beginning to end - and that's no small compliment since I have the attention span of a squirrel, in Fall, on espresso.

That being said, I can understand COMPLETELY that real life comes first, and that you should do what makes you happy. I'm just glad you're still around. Never really being part of the community as a whole makes the few people that follow me here on LJ special to me.

I DO have a tumblr, but it's not a simblr and the people that I follow (or that follow me) would freak out a lot of folks - They're diverse, but some of them make me raise my eyebrows more than once.

It's so wonderful to hear from you. :) I totally understand the dreaded 30 minute wait for a Sims 2 game to open up, it's really off-putting. Tbh, I think my game takes well over 45+ minutes to load.

Storytelling should be done at your own pace though always, it should never be a chore and there's so many who adore your story including myself after all these years and will support any pace you choose to continue the story at. Sims 2 picfics can also be quite mentally taxing although rewarding to complete each chapter, another reason why you should take the story at your own speed no matter your fanbase. ^O^

I'll always be eagerly awaiting your upcoming TS2 chapters (I truly believe TS2 has a much better platform to tell stories than TS3 overall and thus TS2 stories won't ever die, there will always be readers even if they don't comment every time) and as a fellow TS2 picfic-er, I fully respect and entirely understand your decision to work on the story when you wish as it is a time-consuming matter.

Big hugs to you after all of these years! ^_^ You're an amazing writer and I know that whatever you choose to do in the future with the story and when, it will be wonderful as usual!

I would read your story, because it is a compelling read. It doesn't matter if it's in a ts2 format, a ts3 format, or text only. You are a wonderful storyteller. That said, you are not obliged to finish it if you can't. Take care of yourself first.

Thanks for updating.

I'll still read if you continue! If it's not worth it for you, I understand. It's a great story and I'm sure you won't want for readers. Good luck to you!
Love,
A creeper anon still looking forward to chapter 53 :)

Mela! So glad you're still here! (I saw you around on fb, so I know you're still alive, haha) OF COURSE WE WOULD CARE ABOUT SIMTOPI WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!

Well, real life no doubt comes first. :) Just know that you can leap back into our arms any time, haha! Hope that you're busy with something that makes you happy!

hi, I know this is super late :) but I would love to see the ending of your story, but I also know that sometimes that sort of thing can become a chore rather than fun, especially if your game is acting up. Of course, I do hope you finish it, but I understand that it's a lot more work than fun sometimes. I just have all my favourites tracked, so even if it takes a while, I'll still get notified of it when/if you do update! ^^ no one is really on LJ anymore though lol, so I don't visit often lol.

I actually come to LJ in a while. Tumblr is much easier to use and update, honestly, so I've been hanging out there.

My game issues are frustrating, but thoe more frustrating thing is not being able to work on it. I can't help play Sims 3... Again, easy and fun. But storytelling is still much better on a sims 2 platform right now, in my opinion. I think I would like to finish the story... Like I said I just need time.

Thank you so much, though. :)

alright :) and yeah, tumblr is a lot easier to use xD and sims 3 is def. fun to play, but it's not as fun for stories or even character development in my opinion.

I hope it works out for you though!

what's your tumblr? I'll follow you! ^^
(my simblr is 'potentiallysims' but if I follow you it will use my main blog, which is quiescent-destiny )

Re-reading the story :)

Hi Simtopi,

I am having a very bad jet lag and at 3am was wondering what to do. My feedly feed reminded me of Simtopi, so I wanted to tell you that I loved your story.
I hope that things are going well for you!
